What do Banana, Kiwi, And Strawberry have in common?

Ok so for a sciencefair project we want to extract DNA from a banana, kiwi, and strawberry. However, we need to find something in common between the 3 fruits. I know Kiwi and banana have to have something in common because they made a banana kiwi or whatever. Does a strawberry have anything in common with these 2 fruits? Thanks!

The most obvious answer is that they contain DNA that is fairly easy to extract.

Commercial strawberries are octoploid so they have 8 full copies of DNA in every cell. That makes them particularly good subjects for DNA extraction. I don't know about the chromosome number in the other two fruits.
Reply:Other than all being from plants that contain DNA.

monocot/dicots, diploid/polypoid.

FYI a banana-kiwi is not from crossing these two fruits.

Itsn't it a kiwi with a slight banana-like flavor?

The smoothie and tropical punch sounds good.

But you'd have to add rum, vodka or white wine.

Well, after a few seconds of brainstorming,

an interesting thing that popped into my mind.

Strawberry- when ripe are red.

Banana-most varieties when ripe are yellow on the outside peel

Kiwi are green on the inside

Red

Yellow

Green

Are the colors in a traffic light.

? Maybe include a traffic light on your poster and put these fruits in place of the bulbs.

A great gimmick, eye-grabber and conversation piece!

Good Luck!
Reply:they have black seeds

they are all fruits

they all work well with smoothies

they all taste good
Reply:well I THINK i most "obvious" part is they r all fruit
Reply:They all have tiny black seeds. Man, I want a smoothie.
Reply:it depends what sort of 'in common' you mean.

could it be that they are all berries?

i know that bannana %26amp; strawberries are, im guessing that kiwi might be concidered a berry too.
