can I just dig a hole and put the strawberry in it?
How can I plant strawberry plant?Without buying the plant?
no, you need the plant or 2 plants depending because they have to cross pollinate (if you use seeds or un-cross-pollinated plants) It is best to go to a green house and buy the plant, they only cost a couple dollars usually. And normally they are already cross pollinated so they will bear fruit.
Reply:No, the strawberries on the market are mostly hybrids and are sterile. "Planting" is done by taking a part of the stem, treating it with enzyme to promote root growth and putting it in a damp rooting soil mix.
Reply:The seeds are the little black things. You don't need to plant the whole strawberry. It would rot and you would prob'ly not get and plants.
I don't know how succesful growing them from seed would be. Give it a try.
But it is easy to start them from cutting/offshoots. If you know of anyone who has a plant I'm sure they would gladly give you a few rooted runners. (Come over and you can get all you want.)
Reply:ya dont buy the plant.. u buy the seed duhhhhhhhh
