What is your favorite recipe for Strawberry Shortcake?

I would like to be told exactly what is needed and how much of it and exact times for everything. That sort of stuff a real recipe. This is for a friend's birthday next week. Whoever's recipe I decide to use gets the 10 points. Thank you!!!

Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake



Shortcake Layer



1 lb butter, softened

2 2/3 cups granulated sugar

10 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups flour

2 cups strawberry ice cream topping

whipped cream

sliced strawberries



Cheesecake Layer



12 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup water



Beat softened butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy.

Gradually add eggs.

Mix in vanilla, salt and flour.

Spread 1/2 of batter in a greased 13 x 13 x 9 pan.

Spread 1/2 of the strawberry topping over the batter.

Layer with the remaining batter.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1/2 hour.

Pour cheesecake batter over the top of partially baked shortcake/strawberry batter.

Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean approximately 30- 45 minutes more-don't overbake.

Remove from oven and let cool.

Spread whipped cream over the top of the bars and cover with an even layer of sliced fresh strawberries.

Cut into 12 bars.

9 inch baked pie shell

3/4 c. sugar

2 tbsp. cornstarch

2 tbsp. white corn syrup

1 c. water

2 tbsp. strawberry gelatin powder

1 qt. strawberries



Wash and trim strawberries; set aside. Mix sugar, cornstarch, syrup, and water together. Bring to a boil and cook until thick and clear. Add gelatin powder, stirring until dissolved. Cool. Arrange strawberries in pie shell. Pour gelatin mixture over berries. Chill until set. Serves 6 to 8.
Reply:get a big pan and like 3 sara lee pound cakes first slice the pound cake in 1 inch slices the long way then when you cut up all the cake assemble the cake in the pan layer by layer.. for instance cake, strawberries, whipped cream, cake, strawberry, whipped cream or if you want u could use soften vanilla ice cream then freeze the cake after your done

for the strawberries you could hull them then slice them thin and put in a bowl of simple syrup( water and sugar) overnight and then it will make its own juices and thats what you use or you could go to the grocery store and get some frozen strawberries and let them thaw-- those tend to be sweeter

Ingredients

2 cups sliced, hulled, fresh strawberries

2 large eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts

Macerated Strawberries:

1 quart fresh strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced

1/4 to 1/3 cup granulated sugar, depending upon the sweetness of the berries, or more to taste

1 tablespoon Grand Marnier

1 teaspoon finely grated orange peel









Sweetened Whipped Cream, recipe follows



Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and

set aside.

Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor, and puree on high speed. In a large bowl,

beat together the eggs, sugar, and oil. Add the strawberries and whisk until well blended.

Into a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Fold

into the strawberry mixture, blending until moistened. Fold in the nuts, being careful not to

overmix. Pour into the prepared pan and bake until a tester inserted into the middle comes out

clean, about 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack. Let sit for 10 minutes,

then turn onto the wire rack to cool completely.

For the Macerated Strawberries: In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and stir. Cover and let soak

in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Using a large serrated knife, cut the cooled shortcake in half horizontally. Place the bottom half,

cut side up on a decorative cake plate. Spread half of the macerated strawberries across the cake

and top with the other cake half. Spread the whipped cream across the top piece and top with the

remaining strawberries. Serve immediately.













Sweetened Whipped Cream:

1 cup cold heavy cream

1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar



In a bowl, whip the cream until soft peaks start to form. Add the sugar and whip until stiff peaks

start to form, being careful not to overwhip. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
