Would like to know how long it takes for a strawberry plant to sprout?

i planted just the roots and the top tubur. i ordered it this way. any other info on strawberries would be very helpful. i just started gardening and just looking for info-thanx

I hope you planted them with the fibrous center above the ground and the roots spread in a circle below the ground -- but not too deep. If the plants were dry and dormant they may take several weeks to start showing life. Personally, I prefer to buy plants that are showing some life when I buy them so I know they are alive.
Reply:Depends on the soil temperature... I'd give it a week or two at least before starting to worry. Soil temp here is still only about 42o, for instance, enough to make plants wish for bootsocks!
