What do I do about the Strawberry Ground Beetle (Pterostichus melanarius) ?

Actually you probably do not want to do anything with them.

Both adults and larvae are carnivorous and adults also fed on the seeds of several weed species in the laboratory. Large prey, such as earthworms and other beetle and Lepidoptera larvae, are apparently preferred to smaller prey. Pterostichus melanarius adults feed extensively on mature larvae of the codling moth, Cydia pomonella L., when these larvae are seeking hibernation sites in late July and August.

What do I do about the Strawberry Ground Beetle (Pterostichus melanarius) ?
The first strawberries hit by beetles in our patch were the two most outside ones, the first ripe. I caught one of the critters, found that there was pretty much nothing to do except let them have a few over-ripe berries as "bait" to leave the rest alone. That seems to be working here. Report It
