Need a good pesticide for strawberry plants?
With the holes in the strawberry leaves, it sounds like it could be the "Saltmarsh Caterpillar" or "Slugs/Snails" that are causing the problem. The slime left by slugs and snails is a telltale indication that they've been feeding.

The Saltmarsh Caterpillar will leave small droppings on the leaves to show they've been feeding. If you find that they're the ones causing the problem, you can spray Dipel (which contains "Bacillus thuringiensis"). It's is a natural bacteria that kills most worms soon after they've ingested it.

If it's Slugs and snails, you can use any snail/slug bait to control them. There's a natural snail/slug killer called "Sluggo" on the market that I've heard that works quite well.

Both of these products can also be used on raspberries. If you need further information regarding pest control, please feel free to contact me directly.

Reply:Yah salt is natural
Reply:Salt in the soil
Reply:Plant Merigolds around the strawberries..bug hate them. They tend to stay clear of merigolds and surrounding plants.
Reply:I have some strawberry plants and a black berry bush, too, but I don't spray mine. If I see a bug or worm, I just hand pick them. I just get bitter taste in my mouth when I think about pesticide on my strawberries. A few holes in your plants won't kill your plants, or you!
Reply:Snail pellets.
