I have made some strawberry, gooseberry and rhubarb jams but it will not set. How can I get it to set? Help?

I made the above jams using my breadmaker. I followed the recipe from the bread maker instructions, but the jam will not set. It is very runny. I tried putting it in the fridge, adding gelatine, and even recooking it, but it will not set. Will I be able to use it or will I have to throw it away.

Did you use a thickening agent such as sure gel or certo? If you didn't then ya might want to re cook it and add that as the package says. If you did use that ......then I agree with John.....freezing might do it. I saw that bread machine recipe once and never tried it. Good luck hun.
Reply:why dont you boil it in a pan so the water will evaporate. traditional ways are better.
Reply:you have to boil it to reduce the amount of water in it.........or add pectin
Reply:well i think freeze it might help
