I have the ingredients but no directions.
strawberry cake mix
strawberry pie filling
3 eggs
1 tsp lemon extract
Do I mix all and bake or put pie filling on top after baking or what? Cannot find recipe for this.

I have made a similar cake and have made it two ways.
1) Combine all the ingrediants and bake.
2) You can also make the strawberry cake mix as directed by the package, adding the lemon extract, and bake according to package directions. When the cake is cool, top with the strawberry pie filling and freshly whipped cream.
To make freshly whipped cream, put a pint of whipping cream (available in the dairy case near the 1/2 and 1/2 or coffee creamer) in a food processor or mixer (or use a hand mixer), add 2-4 tablespoons (depending on your taste) of sugar and mix until it forms soft peaks.

Reply:I've seen recipes that use pie filling instead of the oil, water, and eggs. It looks like you're supposed to blend all the ingred's and not use water and oil or else the cake would be too runny and not set properly. The pie filling will make it a very moist cake so I would probably opt for one layer cake. You could also make the cake according to the box directions in a 2 layer and torte it using the pie filling.

INGREDIENTS
2 cups white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin
1 cup butter, softened
4 eggs (room temperature)
2 3/4 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup whole milk, room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberry puree made from frozen sweetened strawberries
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and dry strawberry gelatin until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Combine the flour and baking powder; stir into the batter alternately with the milk. Blend in vanilla and strawberry puree. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a small knife inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in their pans over a wire rack for at least 10 minutes, before tapping out to cool completely.
Reply:bake the strawberry cake mix as directed usually with the eggs and the lemon extract.....then let it cool so you can put the pie filling
i really don't use lemon extract on strawberry cakes...i like vanilla extract better and for pie filling i use whipped cream...
