What do you think of strawberry jam for a wedding favor?

Just wondering if it's a cute idea or not. I'm planning on making the jam myself and putting a note that says "spread the love". What do you think?

Love that idea! I've seen jelly/preserves and even honey used as a favor. With a cute little personalized tag/ribbon it would be adorable! You don't even have to make it yourself, there are companies who sell them already done, just add a label or embellishment.
Reply:When I read the whole idea, I thought it was cute. How many jars would you be making? That could be exhausting!
Reply:That's actually a really cute idea! It's always nicer to give a favor that people can actually use.
Reply:I like the idea! And, if red/pink (the color the jam will be) isn't in your color scheme you could make a different flavor, that would match.

My thought, and I hate to say it because I don't have any alternatives, is the saying ("spread the love") can be taken as crude/sexual. It goes with the favor, and obviously for a wedding it's not meant to be, but you never know how people might pervert it. Then again, those who will would do it with anything. So maybe you're good...

Best of luck, I DO like it!
Reply:Very cute! If you have extra time and money, you could also wrap the tops of the jars with fabric that matches your wedding colors!
Reply:I really like it actually
Reply:That's awesome, especially with the tag. Include your names and the date on the tag along with a thank you.
Reply:I would personally LOVE that favor. I love homemade jam, but have you ever made jam before? Its very messy, time consuming and a difficult process, you might want to try making a sample batch to see the work it entails before you commit to it. But if you decide its worth the work, I think that is one favor people might kind of horde at your reception. There are always those favors that one person really wants and goes around asking others if they can have theirs. This is one of those. (last wedding I went to the favor of choice was a tree seedling thing that my Aunt wanted because they just built a new house and there yard was barren, her purse was so heavy by the time they left, they must have taken everyones!)
Reply:I think its adorable! Great idea. You could even put bread on the tables at the reception so the guests can try it out. Good luck, and I hope you don't end up with jam on your dress!
Reply:Sounds good. I would eat it on toast.
Reply:I love that idea.... :)
Reply:thats fine but have another alternative if some of your guests have allergies to berries. candles are cool
Reply:I think it would be cute for a shower.
Reply:^^ That's such a cute idea! I love it. It'd be adorable if you covered the tops of the jars with some checker-board-print fabric...and tie it off with some ribbon or that straw-looking stuff that's flexible and you can tie...I can't remember what it's called...is it rafia? Maybe. Anyway, great idea!!
Reply:That sounds really cute! I love it!
Reply:Love it!!! Send me some too lol.
Reply:I think that's a cute idea.
Reply:A unique idea to be sure, but why not put it in a small jar (there are some that are like 2-2 1/2" deep) so that it's convenient to carry in a pocket or a handbag after the wedding. And you can give out more. :)
Reply:sounds yummy!!!
Reply:I think that is a GREAT idea. Wrap ribbons around it etc. Good Job!!!
