CAKE: Butter and flour the bottom and sides of a 9 inch spring form pan; set aside.
In a large bowl beat whites and cream of tartar to soft peaks.
Gradually beat in 1/4 cup of the sugar, continuing to beat to stiff peaks.
In a separate bowl beat the yolks with remaining sugar until light yellow and thickened.
Scrape yolks over whites, add lemon rind and vanilla and fold together.
Sift flour and salt over batter, folding in gently but thoroughly.

If making ahead, remove from pan and wrap well for storage at cool room temperature for one to two days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
MOUSSE: In a very small saucepan sprinkle gelatin over water; set aside.
Rinse, hull and puree berries.
In a small saucepan combine puree, sugar and lemon juice and heat gently just long enough to dissolve sugar.
Remove from heat.

Stir into strawberry mixture.
Transfer to a large bowl and chill to consistency of raw egg white.

Whip cream until form; fold into mousse and return to fridge.
SYRUP: In a small saucepan bring water and sugar to a boil.
Remove from heat, cool and stir in liqueur.
ASSEMBLY: Using a long serrated knife, cut cake into 2 thin layers.
Place top half, but side up, in the botton of a clean 9 inch spring for pan.
Drizzle half the syrup evenly over the cut side of each of the 2 halves.
Spoon strawberry mousse over cake in pan; don't worry if mousse extends over the sides.
Set remaining layer, cut side over mousse, pressing gently.
Cover and chill thoroughly, overnight if possible.
Release sides of pan, and using a wide lifter, transfer cake to service plate, doily-lined if you've thought that far ahead.
CREAM FROSTING AND GARNISH: Rinse and hull berries.
Slice thinly.
Whip cream until it's stiff and firm.
Sweeten with sugar and spread evenly over top and sides of cake.
Arrange berry slices in circle around the top and bottom edges of the cake.

What color dress should my light complected, strawberry haired daughter wear in a fourth of July pageant?
I don't know whether to put her in a red, white and/or blue dress, or go with a different color. I'm thinking royal blue with star-shaped rhinestones.
What color dress should my light complected, strawberry haired daughter wear in a fourth of July pageant?
Royal Blue is the only way to go. ! or you could put stripes on the bottom of the skirt of red and white!

I want to have a strawberry plant..can i just bury the whole strawberry in the soil?
Hihi...last time i have asked about the way to take care my strawberry plant..thanks for the advice..but unfortunately....the plant was dead..it might because i dont have experiences...or over watered... the strawberry seeds its on the fruit itself right..? if like that, can i plant the strawberry fruit in the soil..so it will grow to a strawberry plant? can it works like the grapes fruit..where i can plant the whole grapes fruit in the soil... if really can....can advice me what can i do.. thanks
I want to have a strawberry plant..can i just bury the whole strawberry in the soil?
Technically this will work.
I have a habit of digging all vegetable scraps and leftover plant tops back into the ground where they can rot down and be reused the next season - bottom soil is turned over to the top.
In doing this for a few years now , I have managed to have about a dozen strawberry plants come up by themselves and they are all performing very well - the first fruiting season for them here is in about 8 months time so time will tell how good a plant they all become.
All I can do is wish you luck - just put the berries in and be patient - may not grow the first year and need to dry off and regrow from that the next year.
Good luck and keep the gardens growing - much better taste than the shop bought rubbish.
Reply:Technically the strawberry isnt a fruit at al. One of the trademarks of a fruit is that the seeds are on the inside. the reverse is for vegetables the seeds are on the outside. so technically the strawberry by definition is a vegetable and the tomatoe is a fruit. in either case if u bury either one it should produce a plant if the strawberry is taken from a healthy plant. now when is the part i aint sure of i know if u leave it unpicked the strawberry will get bigger and more sour. this maybe the time to remove it and try planting it. also i dont know if simply scraping the seeds from the outside of the strawberry would do the trick.
Reply:You can try, but it isn't likely to work. Alpine Strawberry can be grown from seed. Most other strawberry plants are grown by propagation - taking a cutting from a runner and replanting that.
My advice would be to buy a strawberry plant or two and plant it in goodly composted soil. After they are established, you can propagate them. Soon you'll have enough to start your own jelly and jam business.

Does anyone know how to make Sonics strawberry banana smoothie?
STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
Serves: 4
This breakfast drink will keep you energized until lunch.
1 small banana, peeled
2 cups strawberries, stems and hulls removed (reserve 4 berries for garnish)
1 cup milk
2 containers, 6 ounces each, strawberry yogurt
Sugar to taste
Place ingredients in a blender. Cover and blend on high until smooth. Pour into 4 glasses and garnish with reserved berries, if desired.
Reply:I think this is it:
SONIC STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
1 sliced banana
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
3-4 large strawberries (top sliced off)
2 cups milk
1/4 cup of yogurt (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
5 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients except sugar in blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add sugar.
Enjoy!
Reply:Mine is... 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, 1 banana cut up, 2 Tbsp. sugar, lots of chopped ice and some water ( or milk if you prefer) to cover in blender. Process on blend, until smooth. Also delicious with a dip of Vanilla ice cream instead of the water or milk.
Reply:I work at Sonic, it would be difficult to make at home though you need (for a lg. 20oz smoothie) 2oz. scoop strawberries, 1/2 med. banana, powdered yogurt packet (try 4oz. plain yoga rt), and " slush to fill " ( your best bet is to use crushed ice) blend well until smooth.

How long does it take for a strawberry birthmark to go away?
My 2 yr. old has one on the side of her head next to her hairline, it has gone down from since she was a baby....it is still red and a little poofy. The doctors said not to worry about it will go away, but when?
How long does it take for a strawberry birthmark to go away?
My 3yr old has one on her back. The doc. said it would go down in a year or two. I don't see much difference at this point. However, I see some people say it can take longer. I have decided that as long as it is not growing and causing health problems.... I am leaving the decision for removal up to her when she is older.
Reply:Its gonna be there for a while, but it will gradually fade away over time it'll get smaller and smaller over the years
Reply:Some don't ever go away, but it will probably be hidden by her hair as she g rows.
Reply:sometimes they stay forever...they may get smaller but they dont always go away.
Reply:ive seen ppl that still have them as adults..but my son had one that was bright and raised up shortly after birth...now its barely there..hes 2 yrs old.
Reply:My daughter had a weird mark on her forehead, above her nose between her eyes, and it's still there (she is almost five now)...it almost looks like a permanent goose egg, as if she got socked in the face. My dad always points it out..."What happened to her head?" And I have to explain to him that it's always been there. Anyway...I thought strawberry birthmarks never go away. My kid's dad has one that covers almost the whole lower part of his right leg, from his foot up to his knee.
Reply:my brother was born with a stork bite or a strawberry on his fore head too, he is now 7, he still has it a little. It's getting fainter!
Reply:My little brother's didn't go away completely till he was 10 or 11, but it faded considerably for the few years before that.
