Can a redhead with auburn hair and strawberry blonde eyebrows and lashes dye them all black?

I have auburn hair and blonde eyebrows and eyelashes. I wanted to try something different. I thought about doing it for awhile now. Just a simple change for fun its not like I am intending to hide who I am or anything, or that I don't like my hair. I noticed my fellow redhead Ms. Lohan did it and she has the same shade of red hair as I do and fair skin and it looked good on her. I dont know anything about dyes or using them for eyebrows and eyelashes. I dont know what permanent and temporary dyes are either. If I do it will it ruin my natural color? I don't think it would look bad on me. Oh well. If anyone wouldn't mind sending some advice my way I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Why don't you just try on a wig and get some dark eyebrow pencil and black mascara, then you would know what you look like instead of ruining your beautiful hair?

Then if you want the change go ahead and do it professionally, and of course it would take a lot of doing to keep it up, not even considering the expense. I had very nice auburn hair and colored it and now I wish I had not done that. My advice: Don't do it. But, if you do anyway, please go to a professional to have it done so it doesn't get all messed up. Ok? And Please, please, please, don't try to dye your own eyebrows or lashes. The risk of infection, and blindness is definately not worth it! There is even a warning on the instructions on hair dye not to do your eyebrows and lashes. It is not something to attempt yourself in any case. Good Luck!
Reply:you can do that if you want...but will you like it is another story...I think you should try a semi permanent dye first and if you desire the results you know a permanent color is the way to go...but if you dislike it...it'll fade out after while...dish washing liquid is good to remove dye...(supposedly)...it may ruin the color because it might stain it a little...
Reply:My advice would be not to mess with that. Lohan has teams of on-call stylists to do her hair and give her constant touch ups on the roots, etc. I am presuming you do not! Black is a very tricky color to do and your auburn roots would starts showing in about 4 weeks. The eyebrows would be very difficult to do well also. It would not ruin your natural color but it would be a nightmare to grow out once you got sick of it. I know it might sound like a cool idea but it will be a lot of expense and work to upkeep.
Reply:Black dye doesn't look good on many people at all - even those who think they look good usually don't. Some hair looks black but is actually very dark brown, which is much more suitable for most people. Problem with black is it makes you look washed out, especially if you have pale skin. I have the whitest of white skin and dyed my hair a shade of brown that made me look ill - because it was too dark. Try and ignore celebrity changes as they have an awful lot of money and time on their hands to maintain something us mere mortals cannot achieve. This also applies to the platinum blonde celebs - very expensive to keep up.



As for dying your eyebrows that is a complete no-no unless you go to a professional. You can have your eyebrows and eyelashes tinted for a small price and it will look good and fade away. Please, please do not dye your eyebrows or lashes yourself - you will probably end up looking like a clown (no offense intended but i know i would). Call up a salon and check our their prices, even dying a shade darker than you are now could have the desired effect without going black. Lots of women cannot even wear black mascara as it is too black and looks awful.



I would recommend that you put your trust and money into some professional advice and services. Even if it's just for your first dye. That way, you will have the best advice for your skin tones, eye colour etc and you can then judge afterwards whether it was all worth it. Best of all, you wont come out looking weird - i really don't recommend black at all.



I went for a consultation last week at hairdressers and she put all these different bits of cloth next to my face - i will never wear yellow again! It was amazing what she knew about what would suit me best.



Go professional for hair, eyebrows and eyelashes - the cost and time will be worth it.

Reply:I would advise that you have your eyebrows and eyelashes proffessionally done. Odinary hir dye can give you a very bad Eye infection, how about masscara asan experiment it would be cheaper too.

I'm sorry you cant come to terms woith your natural colour its far more unusual than black , remeber you have the natural skin tone to flatter your antural coulour
Reply:i wouldnt go for black as it can make you look pretty washed out opt for a warm dark brown or a chocolate for your hair and eyebrows and black for your lashes if you have freckles they will stand out more too.

if you've got no other colour or bleach in your hair then colouring it wont do too much damage go see a beautician for your eyebrows and eyelashes because unless you know what you're doing you can do permanent damage to your eyes.

as for your hair if you want to do it yourself get a friend to help you and i reccommend anything by L'oreal.

However it sounds to me like you have gorgeous red hair and i personally think that if you tint your lashes blue/black and dye your eyebrows a shade darker you will look hot and perhaps some darker red foils and a few blonde ones in between would look fantastic (but thats just me).
