I think putting the strawberry preserves in the microwave in a bowl will make they liquid like a sauce so that should work
Reply:melt the ice cream in the microwave, and stir in a bit of jam til you like how strong the strawberry flavor it and pour it over the cake.
Reply:just put a scoop of ice cream on a slice of cake with the preserves on top. do not ruin the ice cream by melting it into a sauce. You can heat the preserves with a little booze tho, like triple sec or something.
Reply:sounds great no matter how you put it together...

put the angel food cake on a serving dish....next to it a scoop of ice cream.....heat the strawberry preserves until thin then pour it over both the ice cream and the cake....
Reply:I would do one of 2 things. Mix the ice cream and the preserves. Smear all over angel food cake. Put the whole cake back in the freezer for about 15-20 min to set the ice cream...serve immediatly.



Or let the ice cream soften just a bit, smear it over the cake and then top with the preserves. Once again return to freezer to set the ice cream.
Reply:Make a couli! Simple to make, and delicious. Make it alot with Brulees %26amp; cakes.. ive never used any type of jam, but it can most definately work. Good luck!
Reply:sounds like you figured it out already... ice cream will make the cake go soggy. If you can get some whipped cream, or cool whip that may be better. If you really want to use the ice cream, just take it with the preserves and mix it in a large bowl, slightly, and dollop it on the angel food cake. I would not blend the two together, it would look like a strawberry shake... make it swirly... good luck dearie.
