Strawberry "tendrils" - what to do with them?

I have a small strawberry patch. Lately they have started to spread - they sprout these long thin tendrils that root at the end. I've been letting them grow in one direction, but I don't want strawberries accross my entire garden.

Is it safe to pluck them off or cut them? If yes, when shoud I do so? Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

Those are called "sisters" which are very similar to suckers and if you leave them attached to the host plant they will cause the host not to produce well. So, just cut them off and replant them or give them away. You can divide them anytime you like.
Reply:Yes, you should be able to simply snip the runners off if you don't want more plants.
Reply:you can cut them off or you can let them root and transplant them to a place in the garden you want them.
