And, would things such as lollipops and stuff with artifical strawberry still give me hives (not including cases where I am allergic to the ingredients)?
Thanks, Everybody, Including People who tried to help but didn't do a thing!
Could someone who is allergic to strawberries still eat strawberry flavored things?
Possibly. All you have to do is look at the ingrediants and make sure strawberrys arent on the list. If the list is not there, and you still arent sure, then contact the company that makes the candy, as in the US they are required by law to inform the consumer of this information.
Reply:no cuz they're made from straberries
Reply:Yes as long as it isnt made with actual strawberries
Reply:yes as long as it is artifically flavored
Reply:strawaberry flavored things do not always contain strawberry, but most will.
I would avoid them unless i was sure.
Reply:If you are allergic then don't eat real strawberries you silly goose!!
Reply:If the thing is artificially flavored then you can eat it, but if it is naturally flavored don't
Reply:i advise you not too . i never ever would eat a strawberry never as a kid or as an adult . i have asthma . anyway one day a friend gave me a candy i put it in my mouth and spit it out in an instant
i very quickly got a great deal of asthma .
this was only a candy to the best of my knowledge this may have only had strawberry flavor maybe some natural and some man made but i sure got very sick so i say skip it stay away and be happy you can breath.
Reply:You are allergic to strawberries so stay away from all of its components. It only takes on time to have a real bad episode so stop taking chances and care for yourself the right way.
Reply:I would think they would. Anything with artificial flavoring should be ok though.
Reply:ok, if you are allergic to Strawberries and you eat say Special K with Starwberries in it, it's a pretty good bet that you are going to get hives depending on your toloerence level. Now then Strawberry lollipops probably not gonna do anything, but you should talk to you Physician before you take someone's advice who's not medically trained because hey, it's life, your body and your are the one who has to deal with the hives.
Reply:if it has anykind of real strawberries i would say yes you would still get hives., but if its artificially flavored i think there would be no problems
Reply:If you are allergic to fresh strawberries then you are allergic to all strawberries whether they are fresh, dried, etc. If it's artificial then you should be fine because obviously it's not the real thing.
Reply:My daughter is allergic to strawberries but can tolerate the flavored strawberry food items. Never tried the dried strawberries, but feel that they would further aggravate your allergies.
Reply:yes..it's still strawberry
Reply:I would stay away from anything that has strawberries in it. Including yogurts, puddings, cereal, cakes and any other products that could possibly contain non-artificial strawberry ingredients. I'm not a doctor so don't hold me to what I suggest.lol. Hope I could help!
Reply:It depends on whether the flavoring is all natural or not. Some products use "extracts" which probably would make you break out too. Always check the labeling for all-natural. For instance, a strawberry flavored lollipop is going to say something like "Arifical Flavoring" -- That should be safe enough for you. Be careful!
Reply:if it is artificially flavored
Reply:You would probably have reactions to the dried strawberries and strawberry bits. It's the same substance, only the water has been removed.
Artificially flavored strawberry stuff probably wouldn't hurt you; it isn't made from real strawberries.
Reply:If it is artificial flavoring it probably won't bother you. But, if it is a naturally flavored product it will probably only give you a little bit of reaction, if any, because, it is from a preservative.
