Easy recipe for Strawberry Compote?

I'm making a strawberry cheesecake, and I want to put the strawberries on top of it. Does anyone know of any good recipes for compote that are relatively easy?

well its easy just strawberries, sugar and water/liquer in a saucepan and reduce it.

another idea to top cheesecake is to just layer half strawberries all over the top of it so it looks nice and pour gelatine over it...nicer presentation

1 1/2 pounds strawberries, stemmed and cut length wise into six segments

2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier

1 Tablespoon finely grated orange zest

1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, strained





Combine berries. Grand Marnier and zest in a small bowl and toss. let stand 30 minutes.



Bring juice to a boil in a small saucepan over med. heat, simmer and reduce to 1/4 cup, about 20 minutes. Remove and let cool. Pour over strawberries and toss to combine.
Reply:If you dont want to cook the strawberries, you can slice them into pieces, sprinkle some sugar on top, add some sort of liquor like grand marnier and toss together. Let that sit for about an hour. The sugar and liquor will create it's own syrup for the strawberries.
