Reply:In the spring, but being it a fact that many nurseries and stores are liquidating them now at great prices, go ahead and plant what you can find as soon as you come home!

Reply:In rural Colorado the asparagus grows in ditches every spring after the farmers do controlled burning to get the weeds out of the ditches. And it is much better than what you find in the store. Try ammending your soil with pot ash. Strawberries grow all year long unless it freezes, plant them in the Spring for a Summer treat!
