It depends on how much liquid is in the strawberry sauce and how mch air is in the container
Reply:Yes! Don't think it would be good after being frozen either.
Reply:It would turn it to mush in the fridge or freezer!!! I would suggest keeping the sugared strawberries in a separate container and spooning them onto the pound cake when you're ready to serve/eat them. You can then add the whip cream too! This way it's still delicious, and it doesn't get mushy.
Reply:Yes it would be mushy.
Reply:Never assemble a Strawberry Shortcake until it is time to serve. Not even right before dinner. Make a production at the table of it, if you like. But don't put it together until it is time to eat it. Even then, much of the cake becomes soggy.
Reply:Yes, it would turn to mush. And the same if you made it ahead and froze it... mush when it thaws.

Strawberry shortcake is pretty much a 'make-and-eat' kind of dessert.
Reply:yes the straeberry syrup wold make it mussy.it would still taste good but it would be very soggy cake
