"A beautiful cake for the strawberry lover. Easy to make with packaged gelatin and white cake mix. Fresh strawberries can be used when they are in season."
INGREDIENTS:
1 (3 ounce) package
strawberry flavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
1 (18.25 ounce) package white
cake mix
4 eggs 1 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (10 ounce) package frozen
strawberries, thawed
6 tablespoons butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour three 9 inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, dissolve the gelatin in cold water; stir in the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, flour and 1/2 of the strawberries. Beat for 5 minutes on the medium speed of an electric mixer. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the layers spring back when lightly pressed in the center. Cool cakes in the pans on wire racks.
4. To Make Frosting: Cream the butter, sugar and the remaining half of the strawberries in a medium bowl until light and fluffy, adding additional confectioners' sugar if needed for a spreadable consistency. Spread the frosting between layers and over the top and sides of cake.

Reply:Everyone has their own Version of strawberry shortcakes, and they are all delicious. My mom and grandmother used to make Bisuits from the Bisquick box. They always made the "shortcake" recipe and sliced frsh berries with a lil sugar and at times to make it stretch, they would add the frozen kind and sliced the warm biscuir in half, top with strawberries and some juices top with other half and added more strawberries on top with a dab of Cool Whip. that was it.
Reply:I make strawberry shortcake with yellow cake (my preference) and ice it with cake icing (9X12 cake) and put cut strawberries on top (and refrigerate).

Strawberry Cake
Serves 8
1 10-inche (30 cm) sponge cake
Strawberry Filling
4 pints (2 l) fresh strawberries
1/3 cup (3/4 dl) sugar
Vanilla Custard
2 cups (5 dl) milk
5 egg yolks
1 vanilla bean, cut in two lengthwise
2 tablespoons corn starch
1/2 cup dark rum
2 cups (5 dl) heavy cream (for decoration)
This is how you do it
Carefully cut the spongecake into three horizontal layers.
Strawberries
Save half of the strawberries for decoration. Cut the other half of the strawberries in small cubes -- an put in a bowl. Mix in the sugar og let it rest until the sugar has dissolved. It should become a little sirupy.
Vanilla Custard
Bring the milk, with the vanilla bean added, to a boil. Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar and corn starch. Add 1 tablespoon of water if the mixture becomes too thick. Remove the vanilla bean and then pour the milk over the egg mixture and whisk brisklyl. Pour the mixture back into the pot. Gently reheat the mixture and continue whisking until it becomes a thick cream. Pour the cream through a sieve and let cool. Whip 2/3 cup of the heavy cream and fold it in the custard.
Spread half of the vanilla custard and then half of the strawberry filling on the bottom layer of the sponge cake. Place the second layer on top of this and press gently. Repeat the above process before placing the last layer of sponge cake on top.
Tip! If you have extra time on your hands, you may cover the cake in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 24 hours before decorating. This will give the flavours time to settle a bit and will make a great cake even better!
For serving
Whip the remaining cream. Use a pastry bag with a spout to decorate, working it in an upward movement all around the cake. To crown the work add the remaining strawberries on top.

Reply:I'm going to try these other recipes, but my 14yo made a delicious surprise cake for my birthday. It was a recipe for pound cake with sugar glaze icing over fresh slices of strawberries. Made in bundt form. It was so good, that I beg her to make it whenever I can. (yes, I can make it, but isn't anything better when someone else makes it?)
Reply:This is my most favorite recipe. My old boss used to make this and shared the recipe for it. Its just wonderful and so easy!
One 18-1/4 ounce white cake mix
One 3 ounce box strawberry gelatin
3 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup water
One 10 ounce box of frozen strawberries
Frosting-
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 pound box powdered sugar
One 10 ounce box of frozen strawberries
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven at 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 13 x 9 inch or 2 9-inch pans. Mix first set of ingredients except for strawberries. Beat for 3 minutes. Hand stir-in strawberries. Pour batter into prepared pan(s).
Bake for 35 minutes or until done. Cool completely before frosting.
Reply:Sounds good to me! I make mine by buying a box of twinkies and cutting up strawberries over them! (it's really good)
Reply:A receipt? No I haven't bought it in a while. Take two white cakes, add some strawberries with some sugar to make syrup and pour that over it, then add whipped cream. That is how I do it.
Reply:I have 2 ways I make strawberry cake desserts. One is a shortcake made with Bisquick biscuits. I make the drop biscuits xtra big. I split them after they have cooled and place the bottom half on a plate and spoon sweetend or unsweetend strawberries on top. Add some whipped cream or whipped topping and put the "lid" on it.
My second way is to bake a 2-layer strawberry cake according to box directions (or make your own homemade) and let it cool. I spread a thin layer of strawberry jam on top of one of the layers and top with a mixture of strawberries and whipped topping as the filling between the 2 layers. Then I frost the whole thing with the leftover topping and strawberry mixture. Then refrigerate.
Reply:if i had a receipt for strawberry cake, i'd have to buy a strawberry cake. for a recipe, go to foodnetwork.com

Reply:I usually cheat-already made cake - this sounds extremely delicious
Reply:"COINTREAU" or Grand Marnier is what you need, and Simple Syrup. Marinade your Strawberries with it.
And please, use real Whipped Cream you owe it to the Berries.........
Reply:all of these recipes sound just wonderful - and who am i to disagree??? i'm just not that great a cook - LOLOL!!! but have you ever thought of making cream puffs instead??? they are so simple to make, and you can mix your berries (any kind) with the cool whip or whipped cream to fill them with, saving a few of the best ones to garnish with. if you want the recipe for the cream puffs, let me know! good luck with the other recipes tho!! :^) grmmy net
