How can I get a Strawberry Blonde without bleaching my black hair, or do I really need to in order to get it?
You'll have to bleach your entire head, and ruin your hair. Your hair can completely fry. Don't do it; go for something more natural.
Reply:I'm a hair dresser, so you use red, and blonde, pour the colours into a bowl and then stir until non-bubbly.... Then colour your hair :P
PS, If you want a more reddish colour to the strawberry blonde, use more red. Then if you want a more blondish colour, add more blonde.
Hope I helped.

Reply:That's a salon job and it will cost you (but it can be done).
Just don't... do it..... yourself. Trust me.
Reply:in order to lighten your hair you have to use bleach. you shouldnt try doing it yourself because your hair will probably turn a really ugly orange colour you should go to your hairdresser adn let them know what you want to do they will probably strip the colour out of your hair and use toner to make it the right colour.. it may take a while to get the colour you want and it can be expensive. you will also have to get your regrowth dyed quite often
Reply:I tried dyeing my hair blonde when I have naturally medium brown hair. It turned a weird orangey colour which clashed horribly with my olive skin. My advice would be go only a shade or 2 lighter or get highlights . btw regrowth is really annoying aswell
Reply:It would sorry to say the only way we can do it in salons is by bleaching and we never recommend its soo damaging.. with a lighter colour you could bring it up to a couple shades lighter but that's it.. sorry hun

theres a link hun see where your hair is closest and from that colour example level 3 you might be able to lift with a lighter colour not bleach to a 4 maybe 5 if you had thin to medium hair not thick.. hopes this helps good luck!
Reply:Bleaching can be ok as long as you give your hair the aftercare it needs.
I had reddish hair and i bleached mine because i wanted it to be blonde. Now i bleach my roots once every 6 weeks and my hair is in perfect condition (I've been told so by a hairdresser "considering all the things you do to your hair, it's in great condition")
So yeah, bleaching your full head will get you to blonde and you can put a dye in it from there, because the bleach alone won;t get you to the colour i think your aiming for, bleaching really dark hair will make it go a patchy ginger colour.
You will probably have to bleach it twice, however, make sure whatever bleach you use won't irritate your scalp more than it should (i always use the same brand).
Always buy bleach from a hairdressing shop or make sure your hairdresser tests it on a bit of your scalp before applying it to your full head.
When your hair is bleached, if you decide to do so, wash and condition you hair and rinse and then apply quite a lot of condition all the way through your hair and leave in for at least an hour, this should help bring some health, shine and moisture back into it =)
And remember to switch to a shampoo and conditioner that is especially for "dry/damaged" hair, NOT colour treated, even though you will probably put a dye through it after the bleach, remember that your hair will now be sensitive and should be treated as such.
Phew. That was long. Hope it helps you though, enjoy your new hair colour!!
Reply:i really wouldnt bleach my hair, it would fry it, and sometimes it doesnt bleach all the way and you have to do it twice which fries it even more. i have black hair myself....try highlighting it instead. it doesnt damage your hair as much.
