What kind of icing goes best on a strawberry cake?

i'm making a strawberry cake. What kind of icing goes best on it? recipes will be good. thanks a bunch!!

cream cheese is my favorite for strictly "icing"



My mother makes a strawberry cake and uses a mixture of vanilla pudding and cool whip as the frosting which is fabulous. Gives it a lil more strawberry shortcake taste.
Reply:Coolwhip and some fruit. (strawberries, cherries..) I'm not too fond of actual frosting on a strawberry cake. Who said cake needs frosting? ^^ I mean, if you really want frosting, vanilla would probably be best.

Reply:Cream Cheese frosting with drained macerated strawberries(put strawberries and sugar in a bowl in the fridge for about 2 hours until sugar turns to juice) mix frosting and drained strawberries. refrigerate leftover cake because of strawberries.

or vanilla frosting, or strawberry frosting,

u can use all different kinds and be creative i have used all of those but like too use vanilla frosting and then top it with cool whip
