Anyone have an easy strawberry glaze recipe?

I've baked a strawberry pound cake, it's basically a butter pound cake with strawberries in it; I was thinking about drizzling some glaze over it -- only problem is I have no recipe for a decent strawberry glaze...Can anyone help? Or does anyone have any other glaze ideas?

Thanks!

GLAZE:

2 tbsp. cornstarch

Glaze and sauce

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Drain and chop the thawed strawberries, reserving 1/2 cup of the juice.

For glaze, in a small saucepan, combine the sugar and the 1/2 cup of the reserved strawberry juice.

Add sliced strawberries and bring to a boil.

Cook and stir for 1 minute.

Remove from heat and stir in extracts.

Brush some of sauce over the warm cake and serve with the remaining sauce.
Reply:The glaze for this pie is the best %26amp; so easy. It's always a hit when I make it.

Summer Berry Pie

3/4 cup sugar

3 Tbsp. cornstarch

1-1/2 cups water

1 pkg. (4-serving size) Jello Brand Gelatin, any red flavor

1 cup each blueberries, raspberries and sliced strawberries

1 HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.)

2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Preparation

MIX sugar and cornstarch in medium saucepan. Gradually add water, stirring until well blended. Cook on medium heat until mixture comes to boil, stirring constantly; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Add gelatin; stir until completely dissolved. Cool to room temperature.

PLACE berries evenly in crust. Top with gelatin mixture.

REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until firm. Top with whipped topping. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.
Reply:A very easy way to make this would be to puree strawberries in a blender or with a fork for a chunkier sauce and add sugar to taste

then pour over your cake slices with some whipped cream
Reply:I think I would make a glaze out of XXX sugar and lemon juice, whisking until lump-free and thick but pourable, and drizzle that over your cake. (about 1 cup xxx sugar, 1-3 Tbsp of lemon juice)

I think that fake gelatinous red swill sold in bags next to the strawberries in the produce dept. would ruin your cake!
