Problem with my strawberry plants?

Strawberry plants that appeared to be growing healthy and strong have recently developed a white powdery looking coating on all leaves which in turn makes large holes in the leaves. I do think I may have been overwatering them. The plants are on pots in potting mixture. Can anyone offer some advice please before I lose all my plants? Thank you.

IT SOUNDS LIKE WHITE POWDERY MILDEW. YOUR LOCAL GARDEN CENTER SHOULD HAVE BENOMOYL. A SMALL BOTTLE OF THIS POWDER GOES A LONG WAYS. YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO SPRAY IT ON THE BERRIES. SOME HELPFULL HINTS- NEVER WATER IN AFTERNOON OR EVENING, NEVER WATER IN THE HOT PART OF DAY. DO NOT TOUCH PLANTS THEN TOUCH ANOTHER PLANT- YOU WILL TRANSFER THIS MILDEW. THIS SHOULD HELP
Reply:Sounds like you have mildew/mold on your strawberries. Go and get some spray for that at your local garden center. Avoid watering in the evening. Water in the morning before the sun comes up if you can. Also don't water too much. Watering too much can cause it too. If the ground feels somewhat moist to the touch don't water. Once the ground starts feeling dry then start watering. The soil needs to be allowed to dry out or otherwise you can cause root rot too.
