What side would go good with a strawberry chicken dinner?

i am making a strawberry chicken dish and i need to know what would go good with it. i havent found anything that sounds like it would work.

6 large potatoes peeled %26amp; cooked / 1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened / 1 cup sour cream 8 ounces / 1/2 cup of butter / 2 teaspoons salt / 1/4 teaspoon pepper / 1 package ( 10 ounces) frozen spinach, cooked and well drained / in large mixing bowl whip potatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, and butter until smooth. add all remaining ingrediants and continue to beat until well mixed spoon into a greased 2 quart casserole dish bake at 375 for 20 minutes can be made ahead and refrigerated
Reply:I'd say some garlic mashed potatoes with chives and/or green onions put on top of it for garnish, and some green beans almondine on the side. it'll add a nice color scheme to your plate, and it;ll all work very well together. or instead of the potatoes, a rice pilaf cooked with bacon, onions, pine nuts, and a dash of saffron would be very good as well. As long as you have a starch and a vegetable it'll be fine for taste, it's the color scheme that'll make the difference. You eat with your eyes first, then your nose, then your mouth.

how about, plain ol' rice, a simple spinach salad and whatever you want for dessert?

Reply:De-lish! If it were me I would do a light pasta on the side, a fetuccini noodle with raspberry vinegrette maybe, and for desert something light and frothy, like a fruit salad, pineapple delight or the such.

Usually my choice in a pinch.

It is long - draws the eye and the green coloring would offset the strawberries .
